Relax and Sleep Skip Issue

relax_and_sleep

There seems to be some more clarification on the skip issue.

Reading this post on the Motorola forum tells us that only dual-core devices with gingerbread (2.3) or higher have this issue.

I do not own any dual-core device at the moment, this is why we did not seem to reproduce this issue on our current test devices.

So the solution now can be one of the following:

  • create our own Media Platform (which is a lot of work and will really defeat the purpose of this nice free application)
  • found a solution for using both cpu's while running R&S (currently looking into this)
  • create a special edition with all samples not encoded (which will make the application very big, but also gap-less) (currently looking into this)

So we are getting closer to a solution for all who waits and off course we will keep you posted on any development.

  1. I hope you can fix this issue. I have a dual core 2.3.4 device, and white noise isn’t white noise when it skips every so often :) Thanks!

  2. Another thought, if the problem exists only on dual core phones (like my Motorola Photon), perhaps the problem lies in the way Android 2.xx handles the hand-off of tasks between the cores.
Possible solution, force single core operation?
Any one know if the problem exists on AOS 3.x?
Also the skipping gets worse if you over clock on a rooted phone.
Skipping is less on the larger sounds, but gets worse with 3 or more.

Awesome program. It worked great on my last two Samsung phones.

  3. We have also looked into this, but Android is a ‘too high of a platform’ above the hardware. It’s not possible to force this. We must add that it ‘could’ be possible, but this would involve a lot of custom code (just like creating our own mediaplayer) and this is not only lots of work, but will also break each android release and thus needs a lot of upkeep.
But we are (currently) still looking for a better solution regarding the decoder of the audiofiles.

  4. I’m not able to download again R&S plus after install OneCosmic ICS RC3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398223) in a Samsung Galaxy S, but I could install R&S free.

Where is de difference between both applications? I don’t understand. How is it possible?

Please solve that issue as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance…
